  1. Preheat oven to 350 ℉. Prepare a loaf pan by spraying with oil or lining with parchment paper.
  2. In a small bowl, combine the flour, salt, baking soda, and pumpkin pie spice. Set aside.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, combine the pumpkin puree, eggs, vanilla, oil, and sugar. Mix well.
  4. Place one cup of the chocolate chips in a separate bowl and toss with 2 tablespoons of flour. Shake off any excess flour. Fold the chocolate chips into the batter.
  5. Pour the batter into the greased pan and smooth the top with a spatula. Sprinkle the remaining 1/2 cup of chocolate chips onto the top of the loaf.
  6. Bake for 55-60 minutes. Make sure that a toothpick inserted in the middle of the loaf comes out clean before removing the loaf from the oven.
  7. Let the bread cool in the pan. Transfer the cooled bread to a cutting board, slice, then serve.
